H4G Team

Who are we?

We are a group of students with diverse backgrounds who are interested in how data science can be used to promote social causes. Through the organization of Hack4Good we want to connect students from ETH with non-profit organizations and allow them to apply their theoretical knowledge on real-life problems.

David Hofer

MSc in Computer Science, interested in the application of ML to a wide range of problems from cyber security to economics and social science. I like basketball, music, and reading.

Tabea Donauer

MSc student in Environmental Engineering, interested in geospatial data analysis and how it can contribute to the solution of environmental challenges. Enjoys swimming and hiking.

Colin Kälin

PhD in electrical engineering, interested in solving real-world problems with data and computational methods. Enjoys sailing and learning new things.

Nikolai Scheer

MSc student in Mathematics, interested in the use of data to solve optimisation problems and train predictive models. Passionate about exploring new foods and places.

Ayoung Song

MSc student in Process Engineering. Big interest in process optimization and energy system analysis based on data. Passionate about good food, interior design and body combat.

Antoine Basseto

MSc student in Data Science, interested in ML applications in healthcare and non-profit support. I enjoy meeting new people and learning new things!

Melina Otth

BSc student in Data Science, interested in problem-solving and team building. I enjoy all kinds of sports, especially Volleyball and climbing.

Matteo Anderegg

MSc student in electrical engineering. Fascinated by renewable energy and making the electrical grid smart – that’s where data analysis comes in. I love playing floorball and other sports.

Luis Rüfenacht

Apprentice in software development, interested in problem-solving and the advancement of technologies. Enjoys being creative and bouldering.
